This Saturday, September 9, 2023, the President of the Republic His Excellency Evariste NDAYISHIMIYE invited the Representatives of Religious Confessions and non-profit organizations working in the field of human rights to a discussion meeting on their role in the socio-economic development of Burundi , a meeting held in the great hall of the Kiriri presidential palace.
The Head of State thanked the representatives of religious faiths and non-profit organizations for their contributions in building the country and asked them to always work for the interest and well-being of the entire population. He urged them to be true patriots and teach patriotism in their respective organizations.
His Excellency Evariste Ndayishimiye also called on these organizations to support and collaborate with institutions, especially in resolving current problems, linked among others to the poor functioning of the judicial system and poverty in the perspective of Burundi, an emerging country in 2040. and developed in 2060.
The Head of State informed them that this meeting is part of contributing to the recovery of justice and the country’s economy. He thus gave the floor to the participants in the meeting to make their contributions in this direction.
After various interventions, the Heads of State thanked the representatives of religious denominations and non-profit organizations for the contributions and asked them to educate their faithful on the love of hard work well done, on the grouping into cooperatives for development in value chains in order to increase agri-food production and be able to export the surplus and thus bring foreign currency into the country. These organizations must serve as an example in this sense.
In relation to the imperfections recorded at the level of the judicial system, His Excellency Evariste NDAYISHIMIYE invited religious denominations to regularly organize prayers and retreats for jurists from their churches so that they can pull themselves together and always deliver justice. fair to litigants.
