On June 16, 2023, the Minister of Public Health, José Ruales, sworn in the new manager of the Nueva Aurora Luz Elena Arismendi Gynecology and Obstetric Hospital (HGONA), Humberto Navas López. The doctor enters to replace the outgoing Roberto Beletanga.
In his speech, the manager thanked the trust given by the Zonal Coordination 9 to occupy this position, which is guaranteed by the experience accumulated during 46 years of service in this State portfolio.
“All my work and effort is for the patients. We are going to keep things well executed in the hospital. It is a challenge for me and for you for the benefit of our town”, were the first words of the new manager.
Before wishing the best of successes to the new authority, the Minister of Health congratulated the Ministry of Public Health (MSP) for commemorating today its 56 years of institutional life.
He applauded the management made by the manager Beletanga and all the officials who are part of the hospital. He congratulated everyone for the effort and responsibility in reaching 96% supply of medicines. Thus, the HGONA is considered the best hospital in the entire country with this provision figure.
“The great experience of Humberto Navas will lead us to improve the hospital’s services and network,” said Minister Ruales.
Profile of the new manager
Humberto Navas López was graduated as a surgeon from the Central University of Ecuador and has a postgraduate degree from the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the UCE with a specialty in obstetrics and gynecology.
He has held positions such as:
- Manager and director at the “Isidro Ayora” Gynecology and Obstetric Hospital
- Treating physician and coordinator of the Hospital Paján – Manabí
- Rural doctor at the Carlos Andrade Marín Hospital, among other positions.
