Humiliation: The bureau proposed by Prime Minister Lapid Levant

Immediately after ending his tenure as Israeli prime minister, the Prime Minister’s Office sought a bureau for Naftali Bennett and Yair Lapid’s bureau offered Bennett to sit in a small room that until recently served as Naama Schultz, who was the director general of the deputy prime minister’s office.

According to the report in “Here 11”, Bennett’s entourage claimed that this was a “humiliating proposal” and Bennett decided to transfer his bureau and agenda to the Knesset, where he has a room by virtue of being an MK.

It should be noted that the situation where the alternate prime minister does not have a spacious bureau is new, as Lapid and Gantz who served in the position benefited from the glorious bureaus in the Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of Defense.

Sources involved in the details told journalist Michael Shemesh that if Lapid had wanted to find a suitable bureau for Bennett, he would have found one.

Bennett’s entourage reported: The Deputy Prime Minister maintains the main agenda of the Bureau in the Knesset and has another bureau in the Prime Minister’s Office

Earlier this month, it was reported that Bennett’s bureau found that he was not entitled to the conditions to which every prime minister is entitled, after the end of his term due to the short period of time he served as prime minister – only one year, and the condition for receiving the conditions is one and a half years.

Bennett’s bureau planned to apply to the Finance Committee to request a change in the criteria for accepting a prime minister’s retirement term from one and a half years as provided by law – for a year, for fear that the next Knesset will not recognize him during his term as deputy prime minister.

The letter has already been drafted for the request, but the one who blocked the request and made it clear that he would not support it is the interim prime minister Lapid, who justified the decision not to support it, which is a personal request, which will eventually leave a stain on Lapid as well.

It should be noted that each prime minister is entitled after leaving the senior bureau in the country – to his own office for five years, with two employees, a surviving vehicle with a driver, security and more.
