Hundreds of Pets in Bogor Given Free Rabies Vaccination

jpnn.comBOGOR CITY – Hundreds of pets such as cats, dogs and ferrets were given free anti-rabies vaccines in commemoration of World Rabies Day 2024, which was held by the Food Security and Agriculture Service (DKPP) of Bogor City at the Center for Standardization of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health Instruments (PSIPKH), Saturday.

Head of Bogor City DKPP Chusnul Rozaqi said that in this activity they collaborated with PSIPKH, the Indonesian Veterinary Doctors Association (PDHI) West Java II, and the IPB Vocational School.

“Today there are 220 registered online, of the vaccine we have prepared 500 doses,” he said, quoted from Antara, Saturday (28/9).

Apart from that, Chusnul said, so far his party has not seen any symptoms of rabies in Bogor City. Bogor City DKPP also always monitors the health of animals in its area.

“And we continue to improve this program regularly. “This means that hopefully every month we will carry out activities and monitor rabies in animals,” he explained.

Chairman of PDHI West Java II R. Soenarti Daroendio said that World Rabies Day was not only celebrated on September 28.

“We at PDHI have distributed around 3,000 doses of vaccine to 33 veterinarians and clinics spread across Bogor City and Regency. “They are members of PDHI West Java II,” said Soenarti.

Meanwhile, Head of PSIPKH Agus Susanto reminded the public not to underestimate rabies which may infect pets.

Hundreds of pets such as dogs, cats and ferrets were given anti-rabies vaccines.
