“Hundreds were killed”: This is how Ukraine destroyed the Novy God celebrations for Putin

by time news

A hard blow to Putin: The Ukrainian army managed to eliminate on New Year’s Eve hundreds of pro-Russian militants belonging to the “Wagner group” in a large-scale attack in Mykivka, a suburb of the occupied city of Donetsk in eastern Ukraine, as reported today (Monday) in the Ukrainian media. Without taking responsibility for the attack, the Ukrainian army announced that 400 Russian soldiers were killed in the incident in Mykivka, which is held by Russian forces.

Embarrassment for the Russian army: the commander of Ukraine was changed for the fourth time

The pro-Russian authorities announced that there were casualties in the attack, but did not comment on the figures presented in the Ukrainian media. According to officials, at least 63 Russian soldiers were killed when a Ukrainian rocket hit occupied Donetsk, in one of the deadliest single attacks against Russian forces in Ukraine since the war began.

Daniil Bezsonov, one of Russia’s official representatives in the Donetsk region, said that a Ukrainian missile hit a vocational school in Mykivka, where soldiers were housed, two minutes after midnight on New Year’s Day.

“This is a huge blow,” Bazsonov wrote in a Telegram post, referring to the US-supplied missiles. “There were dead and wounded, the exact number is still unknown,” Bazsonov added. Photos posted on social media showed what appeared to be a destroyed building used by the Russian military.
