Hungary area code: Social Democrat made the first round – Hungary

The official result of the primary election of the Hungarian opposition parties confirmed the victory of the social democrat Klara Dobrev in the first round on Friday night. After counting all 106 constituencies, Dobrev secured 34.8 percent of the vote from the Democratic Coalition (DK), according to the electoral commission. It was followed by the green-liberal mayor of Budapest and joint candidate of “Dialog” (Parbeszed) and socialists (MSZP), Gergely Karacsony, with 27.3 percent.
