Tom Clancy’s book “The Great Red October Escape” in 1990 inspired a thriller directed by John McTiernan: “Hunt for Red October” (which Tv8 will broadcast Saturday 18 September at 9.30 pm). It is Sean Connery who plays the protagonist, Captain Marko Ramius, who placed in command of a Soviet nuclear submarine (theRed October precisely) decides to rebel. Following this mutiny, the US government goes after him, and CIA analyst Jack Ryan (played by Alec Baldwin) is the only one who believes that Ramius and his crew do not want to launch a nuclear attack on the United States but just desert.
