On May 15, the hurricane season began in the Pacific and on June 1 in the Atlantic, reported the National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction (Conred). The forecast for this season will be influenced by the El Niño phenomenon.
Rodolfo Flores, spokesman for Conred, reported that the preventive protocol for the season includes preventive measures, the department at risk, and the location of the shelters that will be set up for emergencies that may arise.
The spokesman said that the National Hurricane Center of the United States assured that the hurricane season will last until November 30 of this year. “It is important to know the origin of cyclones, they form over the warm waters of the tropics and from atmospheric disturbances, such as: low pressure systems, tropical waves, cold fronts or low pressure centers”, andexplained the spokesman.
He added that the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) has established the names that hurricanes will bear this 2023.
This is the #ImpactBasedForecast from May 16 to 18, 2023, where the probable impacts that could occur in the country are established.
