West Ham lacks strikers, eyes on Lopetegui disciple Hwang Hee-chan
There has been speculation about a transfer to West Ham United for Wolverhampton striker Hwang Hee-chan in the English Professional Football Premier League (EPL).
British media outlet ‘Telegraph’ reported on the 6th (Korean time), “West Ham is drawing up a list of attackers they want to recruit, and Brighton’s Evan Ferguson and Wolverhampton’s Hwang Hee-chan are included in the list.”
He continued, “West Ham lacks strikers due to injuries to Michail Antonio and Jerrod Bowen. “Ideally, we would like to rent it out, but we can secure funds through release and pursue a permanent transfer,” he added.
West Ham is a team led by coach Julen Lopetegui, who previously coached Hwang Hee-chan at Wolverhampton.
The media explained, “Last year, Wolverhampton rejected Marseille’s offer of 21 million pounds (about 38.4 billion won) for Hwang Hee-chan, and he recently scored two goals under coach Vitor Pereira.”
Hwang Hee-chan stood out last season by scoring 13 goals and 3 assists.
Wolverhampton extended his stay with Hwang Hee-chan mid-season by signing a long-term renewal.
