HYBRID CONTEMPORARY ART FAIR

We like this alternative fair, where many things happen. In its seventh edition, 35 exhibitors from 13 countries and 3 continents with more than 150 artists participate. There are interventions (Displaced) and discussion forums. In addition, it links independent spaces in Madrid.

Directed by Ana Sanfrutos and Aida F. Chaves, without a doubt, it is the fair that continues to champion gender issues in the face of sexist discrimination in the artistic system. Discrimination so evident in the so-called “Art (market) week” in Madrid.

We highlight:

YE Collective (London) promotes Media Artivism from a gender perspective, amplifying solidarity and resistance against social injustices and environmental crimes. The collective has been founded in 2022 by curators Carolina Fernández-Castrillo and Vanessa Murrell in order to facilitate international dialogue and interdisciplinary co-creation between contemporary artists and community groups.

Woman Art Gallery (Bern) was founded in 2022 by art manager and curator Jasmin Glaab. The premises are located in the center of the Swiss capital, Bern, in the middle of the Museum Quarter and close to the embassy quarter, the picturesque Old Town and the Aare River. The gallery focuses on women artists. The Woman Art Gallery presents works in the fields of photography, drawing, painting, sculpture or performance and brings together women artists, collectors and art professionals from Switzerland and abroad.

The Beatriz Pereira Gallery (Plasencia) arises from the illusion, sisterhood and passion for art, as part of the young network of the contemporary artistic sector of our country, to value female creators and contemporary artistic proposals presented from a gender perspective. It is an active space based online whose main objective is to create a meeting place, an opportunity for connection between artists, the public and collectors.

La Parida Gallery (Madrid) was born as a gallery, artistic space and project whose main axis is to make mother artists visible, although the doors are also open to other people such as trans or intergender people who have given birth or people who have suffered abortions and thus reflect it. in his work. La parida Gallery has a clear political, activist objective and to create an archive of artist mothers, given the clear percentage of visible artists who are not.

The Lucia Duenas Gallery Located in the center of Oviedo, it is a dynamic space dedicated to the exhibition and promotion of art in any of its representations. Painting, sculpture, photography or engraving, are present in a varied program of individual or collective exhibitions that start from a careful and contrasted selection of consolidated or emerging artists.
