Panakkad Hyderali Shihab, the late state president of the Muslim League, bid farewell to Kerala with tears. Burial was held at 2.30 am at Panakkad Juma Masjid. The public viewing was stopped at 12.30 am as the people could not control themselves. His body was later shifted to his house in Panakatte, but a large crowd had come to see him for the last time. Earlier, it was announced that leaders including Rahul Gandhi would arrive at 9 am. However, the police and activists could not control the crowd and decided to hold the funeral at 2.30 am.
The body was brought from a private hospital in Angamaly and was on public display at Malappuram Town Hall. Tens of thousands of people last saw Hyder Ali Shihab and paid their respects to them.
