Dropped from the episode for good? A senior official in the Biden administration: “We will not spend time on the nuclear talks”

“Don’t worry, we’ll free Iran. They’ll free themselves pretty soon,” Biden said during a wide-ranging campaign speech in California, as dozens of protesters gathered outside holding banners supporting the Iranian protesters.

Biden did not elaborate on his remarks or indicate what further actions he would take against Iran. The White House National Security Council did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The Iranian president hastened to respond in a speech on live television, in which he claimed: “I tell Biden that Iran was liberated 43 years ago, by the Islamic revolution of 1979.”

The Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amirbadolhian, added: “Biden, stop your hypocritical behavior. The White House has promoted more and more violence and terrorism in the recent riots in Iran, and at the same time it is trying to reach a nuclear agreement.”
