Hyundai Motor Group nurtures young Saudi talent and builds smart city

Hyundai Motor Group is joining hands with Saudi Arabia’s Misk Foundation to foster local young talent and discover collaboration opportunities in the smart city field.

Hyundai Motor Group announced on the 1st that it signed a ‘business agreement for operation of local youth leadership training program and smart city collaboration’ with Saudi Misk Foundation in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on the 30th of last month (local time).

The MOU signing ceremony was attended by Lee Jae-yong, GSO Smart City Promotion Director (Managing Director) of Hyundai Motor Group, Misk Foundation Chairman Badr Hamud Al-Badr, and Vice Chairman Omar Nazar.

MISK is a non-profit foundation established by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in 2011 to foster young Saudi talent.

In this project, Hyundai Motor Group and the foundation decided to cooperate to ▲ jointly plan and operate a leadership training program for Saudi youth ▲ and ▲ discover business opportunities in the smart city field.

Hyundai Motor Group and the foundation plan to establish and operate global internships and educational programs so that young Saudi talent can develop future capabilities by experiencing innovative mobility technologies from Hyundai Motors and Kia.

In addition, Hyundai Motor Group plans to attend the Misk Global Forum (MGF) to actively communicate with local youth about a sustainable future. MGF is the largest local youth-centered platform that the foundation has been hosting since 2016 for Saudi youth. More than 150,000 people have participated since 2016, and major speakers include Saudi Energy Minister Abdulaziz bin Salman and Microsoft founder Bill Gates.

In addition, Hyundai Motor Group and the foundation decided to actively explore opportunities for collaboration related to the construction of the ‘Misk City’ smart city under construction in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.

Lee Jae-yong, head of smart city promotion at Hyundai Motor Group (executive director), said, “We are happy to collaborate with the Misk Foundation, a hub that fosters future leaders in Saudi Arabia.” He added, “We are actively seeking opportunities to collaborate with the foundation to build a future smart city, and “We will make efforts to promote Hyundai Motor Group’s smart city vision to young talent and increase brand awareness,” he said.
