Hyundai Motor Company lifted the trophy at the 4th round of the 2024 TCR World Tour, the world’s top touring car competition, in Brazil.
Hyundai Motor Company announced on the 22nd that the New Elantra N TCR won the 4th round of the ‘2024 TCR World Tour’ held in Brazil from the 19th to the 21st (local time).
Norbert Michelisz, who competed in the new Elantra N TCR race car, crossed the finish line fastest in the second final race held on the 21st. Norbert Michelisz earned 30 points by winning the second final race, and by adding the 16 points he earned by finishing in 6th place in the first final race held on the 20th, he earned a total of 46 points and maintained his 1st place in the 2024 season driver rankings.
Mikel Azcona, who also competed, finished 8th in the first final race and 9th in the second final race, earning a total of 22 points during this competition and rising to 5th place in the 2024 season driver rankings.
The BRC Hyundai N Squadra Corse team, which the two players are part of, maintained its second place in the overall team rankings with a total of 383 points.
Hyundai is continuing the 2024 season with new signing Néstor Girorami, following 2023 TCR World Tour Drivers’ Championship winner Norbert Michelisz and 2022 champion Mikel Azcona.
The TCR World Tour is a customer racing competition in which manufacturers are prohibited from directly participating and professional racing teams that purchase racing cars from manufacturers participate.
The TCR World Tour is a global top-level competition using TCR racing cars, and is operated by determining rankings based on the results of regional TCR races held around the world.
The TCR series has 40 events worldwide, including continental and national events. Up to 650 drivers are participating in each TCR series event. Among them, the TCR World Tour, the top global event, consists of a total of 7 rounds this year, starting with the opening event held in Italy, followed by the Brazil race, Uruguay, China, and Macau.
