Hyundai Motors has launched its Venue N-line with an upgraded engine. The old turbo petrol engine in this new car from Hyundai India has been upgraded for real-drive emissions. BS6 emission norms came into effect across India from April 1, 2020. Since then all vehicles have been manufactured to reduce the amount of air pollution emitted by the engine. Subsequently, BS6 Phase 2 emission norms will come into effect from April 2023. Due to this, the norms of BS6 were further improved than the existing ones.

The BS6 phase 2 norms will introduce regulations including real-time notification of engine emissions. This is a major headache for automakers as they are forced to re-engineer to meet the regulations of BS6 Phase 2 norms. Accordingly, various brands of cars have been introduced over the past few weeks with engines that have been upgraded to comply with real-drive emissions. In their lineup, Hyundai Motors has now updated and introduced the turbo petrol engine of its Venue N Line car.

This turbo petrol engine is mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox with paddle shifters. Apart from the engine update, the new Venue N Line car also gets an ideal start/stop facility. This ideal stop/start facility with controllable fuel consumption makes it ideal for daily commuting in congested traffic. Due to these additional features, the ex-showroom price of the Venue N Line car has been increased by Rs 30,000.
