Nikola Vasilyeva, a participant in the European Cup in rhythmic gymnastics in Baku, grace from Latvia, said this on Friday to Day.Az with reference to Trend.
The gymnast noted that she previously came to Baku for the World Cup and European Championships.
“I believe that Baku always has the best organization, and I have participated in quite a few competitions and can compare. Baku has one of the best gymnastics halls, the organization of competitions is carried out at a high level,” she emphasized.
The athlete admitted that she was glad to participate in the first European Cup in rhythmic gymnastics, and she was interested in the format of the competition.
“The European Cup is held according to new rules. This is interesting, unusual, no one has done this. Because of this, interest in the competition is increasing, each participant strives to successfully qualify and perform in cross-battles,” added Grace.
It should be noted that the European Rhythmic Gymnastics Cup takes place on May 3-5 at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku. Representatives from 37 countries take part in the competition. Gymnasts perform in two age categories: seniors (individual program and group exercises) and juniors (individual program).
At the European Cup in the senior age category, Azerbaijan is represented by Zohra Agamirova and Kamilla Seyidzade in the individual grace program, as well as a team in group exercises, which included Gullyu Agalarzade, Kamilla Aliyeva, Elizaveta Luzan, Daria Sorokina, Lyaman Alimuradova and Zeinab Gummetova ; among the “juniors” are athletes Fidan Gurbanly, Ilakha Bakhadirova, Govhar Ibragimova and Shams Agaguseinova, performing in the individual program.
