The current golden dreams of rhythmic gymnastics live in Paris with Stiliyana Nikolova, Boryana Kalein and the girls from the ensemble, but the future also “lives” in Paris. Not far from the team is the new little big star of Bulgarian rhythmic gymnastics – 16-year-old Elvira Krasnobaeva. Our outstanding gymnast has already made a huge leap in months from maiden to women’s world success. Today she is breathing the Olympic air in France and gaining invaluable experience, tomorrow golden eyes will be on her.
Elvira Krasnobayeva gave a special interview to “24 Chasa”.
– Elvira, we are in France before the beginning of the Bulgarian participation in rhythmic gymnastics at the Olympic Games. Although you are crossing your fingers from the sidelines now, you are part of the Bulgarian team and are gaining invaluable experience for the future. Would you talk about this emotion?
– The feeling is unique, because I can watch how the girls prepare for such a big event, so that I can know how to prepare in four years.
– Showed a huge jump, literally flew to the women and showed the world that you are coming. Experts predict a golden future for you – both next year and in the next 4 in general, if we have to look at Los Angeles. Are you satisfied with the last months?
– I am satisfied with this year. I worked a lot. I really didn’t expect things to turn out so well for me. I think I did my best, I trained to the max, whatever I could, I did it. And I am satisfied.
– And small details sometimes have a big impact. While you are at the pre-Olympic camp with the national team, the Bulgarian flag is all around you, the five Olympic rings are all around you, do you get even more motivated?
– Yes of course. This makes me even more excited for the next 4 years.
– Maybe you are getting impatient for your turn to represent Bulgaria at the Olympic Games?
– (Smiles) Yes, of course. I can not wait.
– When did you start dreaming about rhythmic gymnastics?
– When we moved to Bulgaria, I went through many clubs and very good specialists, to whom I thank. I even started dreaming when I joined the national team. Only then did I understand what the big sport really was for me.
– Do you actually realize how good you are?
– (Smiles) I don’t think I’m the best gymnast in the world, there are quite a few good gymnasts. But I think that what I have achieved is a great success.
– Of all these very good gymnasts in the world, who are the ones who inspire you?
– Many gymnasts inspire me. I really like Sofia Raffaelli from Italy. She is like an idol to me.
– Now you will watch from the side the performances of our girls at the Olympic Games, you will give them a thumbs up, maybe you will cry along with them. What would you say to these girls who will represent Bulgaria in Paris?
– Yes, of course, I’ll keep my fingers crossed for them. I wish them a lot of patience, success and peace of mind. To do what they can. What they have been working on all these years.
