Kottayam ∙ An expatriate Malayali has complained that the move to destroy the enterprise built over years of hard work is being led by officials. The complainant is Oommen Aip, the owner of ANS Convention Center at Eirailkadavu, Kottayam. After a long legal battle, the High Court verdict was favourable. But Oommen Aip said that he is fed up with the continuing secretive activities led by individuals and officials and will not start any ventures in Kerala.
Ans Convention Center Oomen Aip started in 2019 following the desire to have an enterprise in Kerala after a long exile. The convention center is spread over 3 acres in the 11th ward of the Kottayam municipality. It was built on the site of the old Travancore Plywood Company. An application was submitted seeking permission for the convention center, but the city council rejected it several times, saying that it would be unfair.

Finally, the verdict in Oommen Aip’s favor came from the High Court. The High Court has given permission to the convention center and issued a notice to the state government and the municipality in this regard. One of the complainants is Jaiji Palakalodi, a local Congress worker. The complainants stated that the cases in other courts are pending and they will appeal the High Court verdict.
