Netherlands coach Ronald Koeman said he is not worried about the expected dominance of the Turkish national team fans when they meet today, Saturday, in the quarter-finals of the European Nations Championship “Euro 2024” at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin.
“We know what awaits us, I think it will be great to play in such an atmosphere. We have to keep the ball so they calm down,” Koeman said in the match’s press conference.
The Turkish team may feel like they are playing at home, given that there are 200,000 people of Turkish origin living in Germany.
Koeman expects a passionate opponent, but he does not see a problem, especially since the Turkish fans have a high sportsmanship spirit like the Romanian fans.
The Dutch team beat Romania 3-0 in the round of 16, giving its best performance in the tournament so far.
