The Honduran team is one week away from its debut in the Argentina U-20 World Cup, and its coach, Luis Alvarado, assures that the national team is ready for the competition and to bring joy to the Catracho people.
The nationals are finalizing details and acclimatizing in Uruguay, and complying with the preparation agenda of the coaching staff.
“We are very happy with the preparation we are having here in Uruguay. It has helped us a lot to get closer to the host country of the World Cup. Here the climate and food is very similar to that of Mendoza, Argentina. The kids have adapted well, we have gone slowly, the temperatures are lower than in Honduras”, said the coach on the Fenafuth channels.
The bicolor has played three friendlies on Uruguayan soil, and the performance has been good, says the coach.
“The preparation that we have been doing is simulating that of a World Cup, playing every 72 hours, as we will do in Argentina, the players have responded well, here the rivals are very strong, powerful, regardless of the category.”
And he adds, “the friendly against Uruguay was very complete, they played with their starting team, the same one that finished runners-up in the area. They beat us with a set piece and happy about that. The fans applauded the boys and recognized the work of Honduras, with those feelings of being able to have a good World Cup”.

Of the 21 chosen, Alvarado summoned two legionnaires David Ruiz (Inter, MLS) and Geremy Rodas (Minnesota United, MLS), and claims to be sure he has chosen the best for the competition.
“In the football part, the boys have adapted very well, getting back together and resuming the content and concepts that we seek to implement has been good. We are fine-tuning details so that each of them can give their best version. I am sure that I chose the best and they are focused on bringing joy to the country and going as far as possible in the World Cup ”, he closed.
Honduras in the World Cup, is located in group F, along with the teams of France, Korea and Gambia.
The Catracho team will debut against Gambia on Monday May 22 at the Mendoza stadium, then they will face South Korea on Thursday the 25th always in Mendoza and will close the group stage against the favorite France on Sunday May 28 at the La Plata stadium. (HN)
