Jaylen Brown scored 29 points, Jayson Tatum added 27 on his 26th birthday and the Boston Celtics posted the third-largest margin of victory in franchise history, destroying the tired Golden State Warriors 140-88.
Payton Pritchard added 19 points for Boston, which extended its season winning streak to 11 games. The Celtics led by a franchise-record 44 points at halftime and reached 51 early in the third quarter before coach Joe Mazzulla used his reserves for the rest of the game.
Stephen Curry did not play the second half and finished with a season-low four points for Golden State, his fewest points since producing 3 in 16 minutes on March 16, 2022 in Boston, but in a game in he was out due to a foot injury. Curry finished 2-of-13 from the field and missed all nine of his three-point attempts.
Lester Quinones led Golden State with 17 points in 33 minutes of play. None of the Warriors’ starters played more than 20 minutes, and Moses Moody (11 points) was the only one to reach double figures.
Boston’s only victories larger were 133-77 at Chicago on Dec. 8, 2018 and 128-75 against Sacramento on Jan. 25, 2022.
