Barcelona Sporting Club technical director Diego López apologized to the fans after what he said a few days ago at the press conference after the Copa Libertadores match against Talleres, where he somewhat annoyedly indicated that he was not Barcelona from Spain.

Lopez said: “I wanted to clarify a topic that was much discussed and talked about, which was the comparison I made with Barcelona in the previous press conference. First I want to apologize to the fans, the people, the Barcelona members, the club. What I can say is that I did it without any bad intentions.”

“I just wanted to say many times that we can’t win all the games by 5-0. I have always been very respectful throughout my career as a player. I never wanted to disrespect anyone, especially the people of Barcelona. I repeat that I didn’t do it with bad intentions,” he added regarding the issue.

Concluding on the subject, he emphasized: “One can make mistakes, we are all human beings and here are the appropriate apologies. The stadium was full of people who support the team. That is the most important thing. Today was very important, the people supported and filled the stadium, that is the most important thing of all.”
