After two Grand Prix without scoring, Álex Márquez needed a weekend like the one in Germany to regain confidence and continue to grow on his Ducati. To the two points he managed to grab yesterday in the Sprint Race on Saturday, the man from Cervera added an additional nine points this Sunday after finishing seventh in a race that was complicated from the start, when he was overtaken by Brad Binder and Aleix Espargaró in the snatch.
From then on, the youngest of the Márquez family was finding his rhythm on a narrow and short track where it is always difficult to overtake a MotoGP. In the middle of the test, on lap 16, the youngest the Márquez returned the initial overtaking to Aleix Espargaró and he got behind Jack Miller, aware that an Enea Bastianini was coming from behind with speed and wanting to pass the Spaniard.
Seeing that Miller’s pace was not easy to follow, Álex focused his efforts on closing all the doors to the Ducati Lenovo Team ridera strong defense that finally paid off with a seventh position, thus being one of the eight Ducatis that today have taken the top nine of the race.

I, on the other hand, lost a lot of time trying to close the gap in front of me.”
“In the end I found my rhythm and I rode to the rhythm of Bezzecchi”, explains the Catalan, convinced that “could have finished in the top five” to have come out better. “On tracks like this it’s important not to waste time, but then you don’t have many places to make up for it. The Sachsenring podium was monopolized by three Ducatis, all of them corresponding to the latest version, the GP23. Despite the information, Márquez downplays it and assures that his bike, a GP22, is not far from the machines used by the Lenovo Team and PRAMAC riders: “The bikes are pretty much the same. The GP23 is ridden by the most experienced riders, but as I said they are all similar. Look at Mugello, there we saw that there was not much difference with the GP22. It depends a lot on the track.”
