Three months after France-Argentina, the striker of the Blues looks back on this opportunity which could have “changed his life”.

Called by Didier Deschamps, Randal Kolo Muani made his mark with the Blues. The Blues striker, who is preparing the match against the Netherlands for Euro 2024 qualifying, gave an interview to L’Équipe during which he talks about his incredible progress over the past year, moving from FC Nantes to the Bundesliga in Frankfurt with whom he played the Champions League, but obviously returns to the passage of the World Cup.

And who says World Cup in Qatar, says final against Argentina and this incredible face to face disputed in front of Emiliano Martinez at the very end of the match which could have offered the coronation to the Blues. The Argentinian goalkeeper wanted it otherwise by pulling out a miraculous save against the tricolor striker. “It could have changed my life, says the player. I would have preferred to put it in the back, like everyone else. Like all the French, but it happened and these are the vagaries of life. Afterwards, when I look at it again, I find that I have a lot of possibilities. But on the ground, it goes too fast.»

Kolo Muani admits, however, that this action which could have changed everything punctuated the weeks following the World Cup. The player was very often questioned on the subject. A bit too much perhaps:I want to move on. But it’s part of my job. I manage to answer, it’s not as if I was sad. I’m not going to forget it, ever… We were on the verge of bringing back the third star. I’m not going to lie, I hate it.»
