In 1996, Abbas made his debut in Kadhal Desam. He continued to act in various superhit films and became a chocolate boy among fans.
In 2011, he made a special appearance in the Tamil film Ko. The last time he acted in the movie Pacchiakkalam (Malayalam) was released in 2016.
Abbas married fashion designer Eram Ali in 2001. They have a son Ayman and a daughter Emira. Abbas currently resides in Auckland (New Zealand) with his family.
Last August, actor Abbas said that he underwent surgery on his knee and then underwent physiotherapy for his knee injury in October.
