France team midfielder Adrien Rabiot wanted to send a message of support to his compatriot and teammate Paul Pogba, provisionally suspended for doping.

In an interview given to Téléfoot this Sunday, Adrien Rabiot spoke about the delicate situation of Paul Pogba, his teammate at Juventus Turin, currently suspended in Italy for doping on a provisional basis.

On August 20, during the match on the first day of Serie A between Udinese and Juventus Turin (0-3), Pogba tested positive for testosterone during an anti-doping test. The second opinion requested by the 2018 world champion subsequently confirmed the presence of testosterone, which now exposes the former Manchester United player to a four-year suspension. Pogba may, however, try to reduce his sanction by half if he manages to demonstrate the non-intentionality of his testosterone intake.

“At the club, we were all quite dejected by this news”

Since the announcement on September 11 of his positive doping test, the 30-year-old French international has no longer had access to the Juventus Turin training center. Provisionally suspended, Pogba no longer plays at all and his salary has been reduced to the minimum threshold.

“I had the opportunity to chat with Paul. It’s true that it’s a complicated situation. At the club, we were all quite dejected by this news. Of course, we are with him. He has our support, I hope he comes out of this as best as possible. All that in a row for one person, that’s still a lot…”declared Rabiot on Téléfoot this Sunday in support of his compatriot.

From the affair of his confinement in March 2022, linked to and an attempted extortion by an organized gang involving, among others, his brother Mathias, to his positive doping test, including his repeated injuries and his absence at the Cup of the world in Qatar last winter, Pogba is going through a more than tumultuous year and a half which now puts his career on hold.
