We brothers loved each other very much and it was very hard to accept and get over his death. He has a family who took care of him well.” Of that day she remembers: «My nephew warned me that my brother was hospitalized after a collapse, when I went to visit him he got agitated because he had to get ready and dress well since I was coming to visit him. He revealed to me that he was always jealous of me and told me: “You had an innocence that no one had and that you had to maintain. You must not be like the others”.
«We were together all day, we held hands. He told me that he saw that I was beautiful, happy. I have beautiful memories of my brother.” “The last time all four brothers got together was at mum’s funeral. She was suffering from Alzheimer’s, but at the time it was not yet known and she often tried to stir up discord between us. We never blamed her and after her death we rediscovered our union as brothers.”
Love for Teddy Reno
Rita has been married to Teddy Reno for over 50 years: «After 56 years I’m with a man I still love. Staying with the same person for 56 years is not easy, he is 19 years older than me and already had a son. He’s 98 years old, he’s a bit confused and every now and then he says things that are neither in heaven nor on earth, but he’s still cool, he always sings! A love born by chance, but which I immediately focused on because we were made for each other and so it was. When dad understood this, it was a victory for me. We continued our story despite everyone telling us very bad things.”
Teddy Reno wanted to write a surprise letter for his wife Rita Pavone: «Do you remember the first time we saw each other?
