The Russian leader has again threatened the West with nuclear weapons

Vladimir Putin refused 25 years ago to his predecessor Boris Yeltsin to be president on the grounds that he was not ready. This was revealed by the Russian leader in an interview with RIA Novosti. According to him, Yeltsin made him the offer when the country was in a very difficult situation.

“And all this prompted me to the answer I gave: ‘I’m not ready for this.’ And not because I was afraid of something, but because the scale of the tasks was simply huge, and the number of problems grew every day like a snowball. That’s why I said it sincerely,” Putin explained.

“The most important thing in the end is what Yeltsin answered me then. He said, “Okay, okay, okay, I see. We’ll come back to that later.” And we went back to it several times. Finally, he said that “I am a person with experience, I know what I am doing, what I am offering”, reveals Putin.

Four days after that conversation, on August 9, 1999, Yeltsin announced the appointment of the then 46-year-old Putin as prime minister.

Putin’s confession comes days before presidential elections in Russia on March 15-17. If the Russian leader wins, his fifth term will begin.

Putin once again threatened that the Kremlin is ready for nuclear war with the West. According to him, the USA realizes that if they deploy American troops on Russian territory or in Ukraine, Russia will treat this move as an intervention.

Regarding Ukraine, he said that Russia is ready to talk, but only when the dialogue is based on realities.
