Foreign Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud said that the kind of slogans given last night are anti-state slogans. Through the liberation war, this country gained independence in exchange for the blood of 3 million martyrs. Slogans in favor of Razakar in that country are anti-state slogans. It is not anti-government. At the same time, anti-government, anti-prime ministerial slogans were given there. As we said earlier, it is clear that political evil has entered the quota movement.
He said these things after a courtesy meeting with Isa Bin Yusuf Al Duhailan, the ambassador of Saudi Arabia appointed to Bangladesh at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday (July 15) afternoon.
Hasan Mahmud said, those who want to destabilize the country including BNP-Jamaat have entered. Some of their planned people are leading there. Yesterday they clarified what we said. The arrogant slogans and speeches given yesterday prove that this is not an anti-quota movement. Attempts are being made to transform this movement into an anti-state, anti-government movement. The sentiments of young students are being exploited. Others, including BNP-Jamaat, are fueling it from outside.
He said, we will never destabilize the country. Our government is a very strong government. We will not allow any political mischief to destabilize the country by playing with the sentiments of young students.
He also said that the government has made it clear that the government cannot decide on any matter pending in the court. It is clear that the government has to act as the court decides. Those who know the constitution, the laws of the country, you all know – this is clear. Yet such sloganeering and agitation and yesterday’s slogans, tomorrow’s speech made it as clear as day that politics entered into it.
