The voice is clear, the memory lively and the gaze sparkling. At 94, André Darrigade has lost none of the panache he possessed on a bike. We are talking here about a monument of the Tour de France. The “Lévrier des Landes” remains the best French sprinter of all time. He ran the Tour de France 14 times (1953-1966), dropping out only once. He spent 19 days with the yellow jersey on his shoulders and twice brought the green jersey back to Paris (1959, 1961).
