Nana Mouschouri is leaving music.

Nana Mouschouri, shortly before turning 90 years old, announced in an interview with Der Spiegel that she is leaving the world of music and has stopped singing.

“I want to do a few more shows, and that’s it,” she said.

“I think I’ve done enough,” he said.

“I can’t pretend I’m young. I don’t want to make people suffer. I have no right to go on stage and not sing well, even if the audience is applauding me for that,” he said.

In 2008, Nana Mouschouri, who has recorded more than 1,500 songs, gave a farewell concert in Athens, but the following year she took the stage again.

On October 13, Nana Mouschouri will celebrate her 90th birthday. This time an album will be released with some of his hits being recorded by an orchestra. “When I listen to these recordings, I can’t hold back my tears,” she admitted to Spiegel.
