The testimony of ex-trans Dane Erik is yet another demonstration of how much the environment where one lives can have a detrimental influence on the formation of human identity, something he was only able to realize years after living thinking he should be a woman, despite being born male/ man.

“The words that were said about me, my sexuality and who I was became what I identified with”, he said, remembering that this made him think that having some preferences, for example, for art and music, this would indicate to him that he would be homosexual.

According to him, it was nothing more than “a false label” used by people used by Satan to reaffirm the lies about his identity, something that ended up working during part of his life.

Hearing labelling, he became confused with himself, and insecure. “I remember thinking that if I were a woman, people would accept me,” he told the God Reportsremembering that everything ended up causing anguish and relationship conflicts.

“I was regularly ridiculed and excluded from groups. Some girls didn’t want to be around me because I was a boy and boys didn’t like me because I was too ‘effeminate’. It made me cry and I felt very alone”, recalls the young man, currently 38 years old.

Transformation

The ex-trans said that he started to study Psychology, and that helped him to realize how much the labels, from his earliest childhood, were influential in his gender dysphoria. Later, as he developed a relationship with God, he also learned that the male and female genders are not just biological definitions, but identity definitions as well.

“God waited many years to heal me of my transgenderism and my desire to be involved in the gay lifestyle, until I was desperate to change. I started reading the Scriptures and it showed me that God loved me and sought me out even in my confusion,” he recalls.

Currently, the ex-trans teaches other people who go through similar situations that they should not be guided by what others say about them. In this case, it is necessary to discern what is the result of the influence of social discourse, coming mainly from activist groups, from what is really intrinsic to human nature.

“The devil will do anything to distort reality and make someone self-destruct by moving away from God. I slowly drifted away from Jesus over time by accepting what other people said,” he said. “Never let someone force you to be someone you are not, just to fit in,” he concludes.
