Voting for the urban local body elections in Tamil Nadu began at 7 am today. In turn, a lively vote is taking place in the Nellai Corporation area. Candidates contesting the election and celebrities from political parties have been eagerly waiting in line since morning to register their votes. There is a long queue at some polling stations as young voters are eager to cast their ballots.
BJP state vice-president Nainar Nagendran went to the polling booth at Sree Jayendra Matriculation School in Palayankottai, Maharajnagar and waited in line. He later told reporters, “The DMK has given 100 per cent of the money to the voters. As far as the DMK is concerned, there is no accurate information about their payments. We have not paid anyone. Our candidates are standing on the field relying on the voters.” People have decided to vote for us.
