Nilanjana Neela, a Bangladeshi actress, made headlines recently after she revealed her decision to take matters into her own hands and become a night guard to protect her community from recent string of robberies. The actress gained popularity in 2014 after finishing as the second runner-up in the ‘Lux-Channel Eye Superstar’ competition. She made her big-screen debut in 2014 with the film ‘Gaheen Baluchar’ and recently returned with ’Shyamakavya’.
The recent surge in nighttime robberies across the country has left citizens on edge. News of these incidents has flooded both traditional and social media. In response, Neela shared a Facebook post expressing her determination to stand guard and deter potential robbers. “I was a heroine and became a night guard,” she wrote.

Her latest film ‘Shyamakavya,’ released in May, starred Sohail Mondal and herself in the lead roles. The film was produced with government support, with Soud writing the story, dialogues, and screenplay.
