No bus, no tram. For Toulouse public transport users, two new days of trouble are ahead. Camille, who took the metro this morning from Rangueil to go to Toulouse 1 Capitole University, in the city center, is one of them. “I was going to college and the metro is interrupted due to an incident. I’m stuck at Empalot. We are told a half-hour break. Many people have come out to find a substitute bus but there is none… I had received the information, so I am waiting in the train”, says the young student from the Toulouse metro.

However, she does not want to complain, because she understands the demands. “Of course it’s becoming regular, and it’s tiring to have to justify delays or to take a taxi… But I’m for the right to strike. »

Indexation of wages to inflation

For the past two months, weeks of disruption have followed one another on the Tisséo network. In question, a conflict which opposes the unions and the management for a maintenance of the indexation of the wages on the inflation. “We are asking for the maintenance of the safeguard clause, guaranteeing this indexation”, insists Stéphane Chapuis, general secretary of the CGT at Tisséo, which blocks one of the three bus depots, in Langlade. “For now, Tisséo is offering us a 2.8% increase. We’re not saying it’s zero but we want a reassessment next year in relation to 2023 inflation, ”continues the trade unionist, who regrets that there is no discussion with management.

Invited this morning from France Bleu Occitanie, the prefect of Haute-Garonne and prefect of Occitanie Pierre-André Durand, said he was ready to seize the labor inspectorate. For Stéphane Chapuis, it is a direct response to the inter-union letter sent on Tuesday and asking for mediation. “Today, the management and the town hall are responsible because they want to let the conflict rot, thinking that it will stop. They do not support Toulouse, who are penalized by these strikes. We want to find a favorable outcome to the conflict. »

But as the prefect reminded our colleagues this Thursday morning, mediation is “framed by the texts and presupposes acceptance by both parties, trade union and employers”.
