Due to this, people are engaged in a massive protest against the government. The protesters who besieged the President’s House on the 9th have brought the House under their control. Knowing this information in advance through secret spies, Gothapaya and his family left the mansion.
It is reported that they first went to Maldives and from there they have now gone to Singapore. In this case, Ranil Wickramasinghe was chosen as the interim president after President Gotabaya Rajapaksa stepped down last Thursday after a long struggle by the people. Due to this, the protesters besieged Ranil Wickramasinghe’s house. The soldiers stopped them by throwing tear gas. Due to this, the tension in Sri Lanka has continued and there has been great confusion in politics.
Therefore, a high-level committee headed by the Chief of Army Staff has been constituted in Sri Lanka to maintain law and order. In this case, it has been reported that in his resignation letter sent by President Gothapaya Rajapakse through his email address, he has written that I have served my country to the best of my ability and that I will only do good in the coming times.
Gothapaya also said that the spread of Korana and the general shutdown are the cause of the economic crisis, so I implemented the general shutdown to protect my people. It has also been announced that the new President will be elected within the next 7 days within the Parliamentary Assembly.
