“I was very touched”: Professor Perronne speaks on the decision of the disciplinary chamber of the College of Physicians

In decisions rendered on October 21, the Île-de-France disciplinary chamber of first instance of the Order of Physicians considered that Professor Christian Perronne, with regard to his quality as an internationally recognized infectious disease specialist, had “the obligation to express oneself in the field which falls within its competence”, during the Covid-19 crisis. He was particularly criticized for comments made against the government’s health policy during his media appearances. In this “Challenge of Truth”, the doctor returns to this crucial decision for freedom of expression within the profession and the protection of scientific speech in France.
