Mexico’s virtual president-elect, Claudia Sheinbaum, announced that next week she will hold meetings “by region” with governors from all over the country to plan specific projects.
“We are already holding meetings with the governors to be able to define – in general for the entire six-year term – but particularly for 2025, which essential priority works will be supported by the Federation and the presidency of the Republic,” he declared at a press conference.
The future president said that the meetings will be with the active and elected governors, although he clarified that “in the case where the definition of the Electoral Court in the state governments is not yet clear, we will not call the elected ones.”
He emphasized that the meeting will be with state leaders from all parties, “there must be an institutional relationship of support, I will be the one to govern the people of Aguascalientes, just like the governor, even though Aguascalientes was the only state where we did not win, I will be the president, it is our turn to govern all the people of Mexico, including our migrant brothers.”
Sheinbaum Pardo said that in the states where there has been a political confrontation, they are trying to avoid it because “finally all the elderly, regardless of which state, receive their universal pension, all the boys and girls, high school students, regardless of who governs them in their states or municipalities, have their scholarship and to the extent possible we will be coordinating.”
