Many such incidents continue to take place in many parts of the world. Such is William Wilford from Middlesbrough, London. He is 37 years old. But he looks like a teenager.
Sainsbury’s, the UK’s most popular delivery service, has refused to give William the food he ordered.
Even though he didn’t order anything like alcohol or cigarettes, the delivery staff who came to deliver him saw his figure and left without giving the goods. When William showed his birth certificate to the delivery worker, he refused.
She ordered from Sainsbury’s with her spare cash because she can’t go out much with cystic fibrosis and diabetes. But Sainsbury’s said refunds will take a few days to come back.
However, William is at a loss as to what to do as he runs out of food and money. Speaking about this, William said, “On the day of delivery, the employee who placed the goods outside my house asked me to show my ID card. But I asked why when there was no alcohol or cigarettes in my order.
To which he said this is our company policy. But I don’t have I.D. As there was no card, the delivery staff did not ask about my health status even after showing my birth certificate. At the same time, since I was told that I would get a refund, I thought that I could keep it and go directly to the store to buy something, and I expected them to arrive immediately.” London’s Metro has told the media.
Sainsbury’s has apologized for the incident and refunded William’s money and said it would conduct an investigation.
