I would go back to living in the 80s

If you could travel through time, where would you go? In the 80s, maybe the late 70s or early 90s. First, because I like the music of that time, and the men wore nice suits that I would go out in. And the women in those lovely dresses… I’m ready to go back to those times.

These are respectively one of the questions and one of the answers in the poll in which Grigor Dimitrov participated. The best Bulgarian tennis player of all time found time to ride in Tennis Channel’s golf cart and take part in the video, which was interrupted at times by fans asking for autographs. This happened in Beijing, where Dimitrov could not play because of his old adductor injury, which forced him to withdraw from Wimbledon and the US Open. The former world No. 3’s next tournament should be the Masters 1000 in Shanghai. Grigor still has chances to qualify for the ATP Finals (in Turin) for the first time since 2017, when he became the champion in London.

What does the Bulgarian think about the gradually returning trend of shorts like in the classic years of tennis? The Czech Tomas Makhach wears them.

“I like shorts. Not for basketball, but for tennis, which are great. It’s good to watch players with such a team – especially those who have impressive leg muscles and show them off like that. I think the fans are also happy with what they see. But it would be best to ask them this question, I will be curious to see the results of the poll”, says Dimitrov.

“Imagine that you meet aliens that land on Earth. What’s the first thing that pops into your head?”

“I will ask them to take me to fly with them. I would be interested in taking a walk in space”, answers our tennis player.

Dimitrov did not spare the answer when asked which fictional character he would go out with for a night.

“Jessica Rabbit,” says Grigor. (This is the flamboyant “star” from the popular movie Who Drove Roger Rabbit.)

What will you two do? I will keep it for myself, Dimitrov is categorical. According to him, Hubert Hurkach, Andrey Rublev, Danil Medvedev and Frances Tiafoe are the most suitable for leading a one-man show (outside of Nick Kyrios, who has one).
