“I am in favor of regulation, there must be some regulation for the Artificial intelligence because it can be a risk to the public”, Musk said this Friday in Paris, where he was the guest of honor at the VivaTech technology contest, in an auditorium that welcomed some 4,000 people.
As soon as he made this statement, the interviewer asked him if it would not also be a good idea to regulate Twitter, to which Musk responded with a resounding “no”.
The South African-born American tycoon insisted on his warnings about the potentially “catastrophic” of AI in people’s lives. “We have to take a break (…) The possibility of something going wrong with the application of super intelligence must be minimized,” assured.

“I was worried because Twitter was having a negative effect on civilization and everything that affects civilization is not good”said the owner of the social network, which has lost a good part of its value on the stock market since it was acquired while launching a drastic layoff plan.
He assured that Twitter has discarded 90% of the “bots” and boasted that it is the only company in the sector whose operating algorithm “It’s not a secret.”
“Users spend more time on our network, that is a very good sign”abounded.

Musk defined himself as “a defender of freedom of expression” and considered that its limits are set by the laws of each country.
He clarified that the network he directs “will not promote offensive things”, but also warned that it should not fall “on the line of censorship” which, in his opinion, ends up impoverishing public debate.
Before his speech at VivaTech, Musk was received by French President Emmanuel Macron, who is trying to convince the businessman to set up a Tesla factory in this country.
Precisely regarding the leading electric vehicle firm, the tycoon underlined the great margin that progress it has, since only 2% of the world production of vehicles is electric matrix. “There is a lot of work to do at Tesla”summarized.
