From the latest data, it is recorded that 11 teams will use the services of players with lineage from either father or mother, or grandparents.

IBL Managing Director, Junas Miradiarsyah welcomed the arrival of the players heritage which will enliven the competition in the highest caste basketball competition in the country.

“The 2025 IBL competition will be exciting, everyone will try to find the best players from foreign players, naturalization and heritage player,” Jonas said.

Last season, the only player with Dutch heritage was recorded as the RANS Simba Bogor point guard, Devon van Oostrum.

This year the number of hereditary players taking part increased with Leo Sakai (Japan/Bali United), Anthony Metten (Ksatria Bengawan Solo/Netherland), Franky Johnson (Philippines/Pacific Caesar), and Xavier Ford (United States/Borneo Hornbills).
