IBM today announced a significant expansion of the Power10 server family and introduced mid-scale systems and the possibility of scale-out for upgrading, additional protection and automation of business applications and IT activities. The new Power10 servers combine performance, scalability and flexibility, as well as a pay-as-you-go payment method for customers who want to quickly deploy new services across multiple cloud environments.

Among the new systems are servers based on the new generation IBM Power10 processor with 2 times more cores and more than 2 times the memory bandwidth compared to previous Power generations. The Power 10 chip was developed by IBM staff, with the active participation of the company’s development centers in Israel.

The digital transformation is pushing organizations to upgrade both their applications and IT infrastructure. Designed specifically for today’s dynamic business environments, IBM Power systems have been adapted to run essential workloads such as databases and core business applications, as well as to maximize the efficiency of applications operating within containers. The new systems offer Red Hat OpenShift open source solutions that enable IBM to collaborate with diverse customers, connect critical workloads to new and original services in the cloud, and give organizations maximum value for investing in existing infrastructure.
