It took him to rescue the national daily HOROYA from the frost of oblivion. Even if it was not dead, its breath of life had become very weak. This newspaper with a glorious past had ended up losing its verve because of the management that had been reserved for it. A limited circulation with articles that did not evoke the realities of the country distributed only at the level of a few departments. Such was the sad reality of this newspaper which nevertheless made the good days of the national press.
Today, we must recognize the technical, administrative and professional work undertaken by the new management team under the leadership of the great master of the press, Ibrahima KONE. An ant’s work that allowed him to unearth values to which he breathed new life into his vision of change. For a press service, personnel management is essential, building their confidence, ensuring their equipment with adequate and appropriate work materials. The social environment and the work environment are factors that have a positive impact on the quality of service reports and the expected results.
The revival, one could even say rebirth, of the Horoya newspaper has today allowed it to restore its image tarnished by so many years of poor administrative and professional management. Our national daily, despite the difficulties, has managed to become a real element of the press through the content of its publication, the relevance of its articles and the scope of the information it distils. From four pages, it is now nearly 20 pages for a circulation in the tens of hundreds. All sectors of life are affected, in particular: culture, sport, society, administration, economy and politics.
Horoya has now entered the circle of major newspapers in the sub-region such as Fraternité Matin of Côte d’Ivoire, l’Essor of Mali, le Soleil of Senegal. It rivals these press organs in terms of printing quality, information and distribution. This success is to be credited to this young, fiery and talented administrator Ibrahima KONE who has spared no effort to imprint his strong personality and his know-how in communication and information at his service. He is truly the man for the job as Guineans like to say “The right man in the right place”.
His arrival at the head of this service was beneficial for the national press and a godsend for these dozens of workers of Horoya who find in him a redeemer, a leader of men and a perfect father. Leading men is not only giving them orders, it is also and above all sharing their life, their daily life.
In truth, Ibrahima KONE is in front of, with and behind his colleagues. He is the prototype of the exemplary leader who has professional merit, an open mind and a keen sense of humanism. Good luck to this young Director for the ever-increasing influence of the Horoya body.
