The last time a cricket tournament was held in South Korea was in 2014. Asian Games Cricket was held in Inchon. There was only one stadium there.

After 10 years, the ICC event is going to be held in South Korea for the first time. The sub-regional qualifier ‘B’ of the ‘East Asia Pacific (EAP)’ region of the Men’s T20 World Cup will be held. In addition to South Korea, Indonesia, Japan and the Philippines will participate.

This qualifier will start on September 28, 2024. Will continue till October 5.

Excited to host an ICC event for the first time, South Korea Cricket Association President Kim Nam Ghee said, “It is for us to host a prestigious ICC event like the East Asia Pacific (EAP) Sub-Regional Qualifier ‘B’ of the Men’s T20 World Cup. A great milestone. We are more excited about the development of cricket in our country than the joy of having international cricket in our country. Youngsters will be attracted to cricket. Will start dreaming of becoming a cricketer. It will not only give our cricketers an opportunity to showcase their talent, but also make them aspire to achieve more.’

The year 2024 is important not only for South Korea but also for the entire East Asia Pacific. Because, apart from South Korea, Indonesia and Samoa will host the ICC event.

The ICC U-19 Women’s Twenty20 Cricket World Cup EAP Qualifier will be held in Bali from May 14 to 20. Where Fiji, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and Samoa will play.

And in Samoa from August 6 to 10, the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup EAP Division-2 Qualifiers will be held. Where Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Samoa and Vanuatu will fight.

The EAP Sub-Regional Qualifier ‘A’ matches of the ICC Men’s Twenty20 World Cup will also be held in Samoa from August 17 to 24. Where Cook Islands, Fiji, Samoa and Vanuatu will compete.
