Test is the traditional format of cricket. This format of white clothes is about to be lost in the T20 craze around the world. Cricket’s apex body ICC has a different plan to save Test cricket. They plan to create a separate fund for Tests in order to increase the match fees of the cricketers. The news is from the Australian media “Sydney Morning Herald”.

ICC plans to create fund to save Test cricket

“Sydney Morning Herald” reported a report of them, through this fund formed for Test cricketers, the minimum match fee in Test can be 10 thousand US dollars (about 11 lakh 97 thousand rupees in Bangladeshi currency). And the estimated amount of fund formation can be about 1 crore 81 thousand US dollars.

It is reported that Cricket Australia (CA) and England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) are supporting the move to create this fund specifically for Tests. BCCI Secretary Jai Shah, however, has already given his opinion.

The main reason behind the formation of this fund was to send a ‘weak’ South African team for the Test series held in New Zealand last February. At that time the SA T20 tournament was going on in South Africa. As a result, South Africa were forced to send a weak squad to New Zealand.

Small or backward countries will get support from this fund. This list includes countries like Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe will tour England to play a Test in May next year. They will pay the Zimbabwean team for this tour. England will play a four-day Test on the tour.
