CHENNAI: Railways is taking steps like installing de-icing devices in train engines during the snow season.

Regarding this, Railway officials said:

Passenger safety is important in train operation. Therefore, we are taking various measures to run trains safely during heavy snowfall.

Accordingly, we are carrying out measures such as installing LED bulbs in the front of the locomotives, installing anti-fog equipment and running them at a speed of 60 to 75 km per hour.

We have advised the train drivers to follow these. If there is any change in the service of the trains, the passenger will be informed immediately.
