A photographer and visual artist has captured a beautiful scene on the shores of Lake Superior in Minnesota, an Instagram video that has earned him plenty of praise.
“I finally got to see the ice stack in action! A 17 km/h wind combined with flowers of frost acting as sails catching the wind was enough to move this newly formed ice. I’m not the biggest fan of ‘REELS’, but I thought this fascinating process deserved a bit longer video,” says Paul Johnstone on his Instagram account.
The natural phenomenon captured on January 30 began to circulate on social networks quite recently.
“Gorgeous! I live in the Upper Peninsula and the Lake Superior thaw is why spring is my favorite season here. The shards of ice moving on the water and the crackling and dripping noises when you stand at the edge of the lake is unique!”, comments one of the Internet users under the publication.
Paul Johnstone has been filming the ice shards for over a year and has been posting his work on social media ever since.
