Iceland Ranked as World’s Most Peaceful Country for the 15th Consecutive Year
According to a recent report by the Institute for Economics and Peace, Iceland has once again emerged as the most peaceful country in the world. This marks the country’s 15th straight year at the top of the Global Peace Index. The report also highlights a decline in overall global peace.
The annual Global Peace Index for 2023 lists the top 10 countries known for their peace and tranquility. Iceland secured the first position, followed by Denmark and Ireland in second and third place, respectively. Other countries that made it to the top 10 include New Zealand, Austria, Singapore, Portugal, Slovenia, Japan, and Switzerland.

Since 2008, the 25 least peaceful countries have shown an average decline of 12.1%, while the 25 most peaceful countries have improved by 4.3%.
