CHENNAI: Chennai ICF plant plans to manufacture and dispatch two Vande Bharat trains every month to meet the railway’s target.
The ‘Vande Bharat’ train being manufactured at Chennai Perambur ICF plant is getting good response from the passengers. The train is capable of traveling at a speed of 180 kmph. So far, eight Vande Bharat trains are running on various routes in the country. The preparations for the 9th Vande Bharat train are going on in full swing. In another 15 days, this train will be prepared and the ICF will be handed over to the Railway Board. The board will decide on which route to run this train and announce later.

Regarding this, the railway officials said: The reception for the Vande Bharat train is increasing. The central government has set a target to run 75 Vande Bharat trains across the country by August 15 this year. Accordingly, Vande Bharat is going to start train manufacturing works not only at ICF but also at other plants. Meanwhile, Chennai ICF, till now, was producing only one Vande Bharat train per month, but for the first time last December, we have produced and handed over two Vande Bharat trains. Similarly, we are speeding up the work to manufacture and deliver two or three Vande Bharat trains every month. Thus they said.
